This two-song thing from 2025 Vietnam has a lot of what I like, especially when the feature artist on track one sings "thang' like "bang". There's still something indie about it, but both tracks are perfect.
Belatedly as I catch up on my inbox, Yoasobi was affiliated with Sony from the start and explicitly formed to promote some Japanese equivalent to Wattpad the company owns, so even without the pandemic their debut had legs based on YouTube metrics alone (Billboard reported one million views a month from the original upload date in late 2019). Give it an edgy age-restricted cartoon music video to generate buzz, then slot them into the anime theme music industrial complex for wide appeal and I guess you're golden from there. I've always found them too fundamentally corporate in this regard to stomach myself.
