(2) Actual track credits of "Mountain Stream" (in the video caption) are drums Ross McReynolds, bass Rhees Williams. I'm surmising that Angela herself is banjo, gtr, and keybs. In the MV, tho, she portrays herself on gtr and drums, and two women are bass & banjo (bass in vid credited to Matty Finn; and the bassist in one of the live clips seems to be a woman). Dancers are Jace, Izzy & Mistress Gia; wondering if one of those is Angela and another is Matty. (The many viewers of the Ashlee Simpson Show knew that it was actually John Shanks on gtr. on "Shadow," and at least some who bought the album probably noticed it was Kenny Aronoff on drums, and maybe a few knew who he was. But the "Shadow" vid was definitely there to surround her w/ young'uns. Presumably Angela's current audience gets the vid as an art project, or a fiction, but if the song blows up it'd be fun if the wider audience doesn't get this.)
(3) Here's the live clip. Somewhat dif lyrics. Can't tell if Angela is expressing a preference for stream rather than people. In live ver. she credits herself w/ creating the mountain, if I'm getting it right. The record's lyrics are more aggressive.
(4) Song is a basic blues 'n' country vamp 'n' drone. Trying to think of what I've heard recently that it reminds me of (esp. the descent in the banjo's high notes). Two tracks, it turns out, one PPP 1996 and the other PPP96-adjacent: Butthole Surfers' "Pepper" and Placebo's "Pure Morning."
