Isn't the "KO" beat sampled from "Hit 'Em Up"?

Ha! I didn’t catch that at all. Explains the 90s-ness….

NLE Choppa/The Great borrowed a lot more than the beat from Pac... that whole video is a fun time, picking out the references, which double down on his heated flow. Goddamn the boy can dance as well... and looks like he's put a few hours into the boxing gym. YungBoi What? Dis the big boy league!

Wow, I am seriously revealing my preexisting Tupac knowledge (pretty close to zero -- Tupac is maybe the single biggest blind spot in my music knowledge for someone who grew up in the 90s). And also my capacity to google anything this week (even closer to zero). I think it's mostly the sing-song from the original sample that they used for the chorus that put me in mind of the after-school-special-ish rip-offs that followed.

Yumi Zouma deliver again! Effie's verses do get us very close to the feel of OG fairy trap, which I fear is a sound Zheani has left far behind her on her expanding progress through the cosmos but I think LOBOTOMY from the new album might just be my feel good hit of the summer. Wanna recommend Blue Velvet by Princess Nokia too because she's on some kind of comeback roll atm.

Re my Ongoing Singles playlist, the Top 50 are kinda sorta in order, while the next 50 are waiting to be integrated in (or out): some may go Top 10 and others may disappear altogether.

Gratified that Nelly Furtado's gonna make my EOY; totally stoked that Cerrone will too.

You'll notice that DJ Danz's "Sugdan Na Ang Pag Budots" is on the list twice, first in the top ten and second down at 91 – actually, *91* was first and it was there where you linked it on bsky so I've got to keep it there while everything else moves around it, so your link will still work. (Keep it there for a month, anyway.)

Ah didn't realize I'd linked from Bluesky directly from your playlist! Doubtful anyone will come across it there but I can put a new link in a reply in case if you want to remove the dupe.

Don't mind keeping the dupe for the time being. Maybe in a month (which will have the happy result of momentarily putting the link to me back atop your feed).
