Apple Music has wreaked havoc on my baile funk playlists from the past few years. I assume they've taken down some of these songs for including uncleared samples.
Yeah preserving funk is all but hopeless. I download a lot of that stuff, but I have it in folders that I don't account for very well and that have already gotten scattered across devices from a hard drive crash about a year ago.

Checked out a Myah Marie page with videos where she's officially credited as the singer. Maybe I was hoping for a neglected, dark genius lost in the biz, or maybe contra that I was hoping for something blah and indistinct, which would – somehow? – be a boost for Britney in comparison. Anyway, seems to be the category "indistinct" and "just okay." I don't think the songs are helping Myah much. tWIST's "Party" has an effective blip- and woodwind-ridden arrangement but feels like it's waiting unfulfilled for an Alexandra Stan to show up (tho note that tWIST is Swedish not Romanian); and I get a pleasant jolt from "Missing" when I hear the familiar melodic fragment, "like the deserts miss the rain"; Myah's straight, firm singing delivers it well. Regular voices *can* be fine in the vast universe of dance.
