Over the weekend, I posted my latest "Radio Not Radio" episode: https://www.mixcloud.com/callinamagician/542025-radio-not-radio/. Among many others, it features Dominican pop group Mula and South Sudanese singer Leek Makeuk Deng Melou.

At least on YouTube, the most streamed version of "Passo Bem Solto" is the "slowed" version; in second place is the "ultra-slowed" version. In any version it doesn't seem to me to be more than replacement-level catchy. I assume its success is at least a little more than just cumulative advantage, so there's something I'm not comprehending. One of the comments on Ultra Slow admires the way that version highlights the background. Stream totals don't seem all that high, either, though Slow is about 2 million times as high as *my* favorite Brazilian tracks this year, e.g. this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MFXzpP-57U

Kotolga, who only has 2 tracks, both collabs, on Spotify, jumps straight onto my playlist for the Jvcki Wai/Zheani vibes and also for sounding like Oklou if Oklou hadn't done nearly as well at school.

Hmmn, motorik now means soft-peddling a Can pulse. Had a discussion the other day with Simon Sweetman about which rock drummers live on in electronica - not many are distinctive enough but John Bonham and Jaki Liebezeit seem to be immortal.

You might want to delve more into Poland, I would bet there are more Kotolgas around. I think Bambi is probably too far on the trap side of fairy trap, but she does have a good album out https://open.spotify.com/album/1HU76pMBDYXhvPr8IwviVS?si=IaLju-m3SzSqTW1Y0IzgCw

If you figure out how to make sense of the more tasteless pockets of Polish rap-pop without random playlist dumpster diving, do let me know lol

That is good - one or 2 tracks that seem to reference Jvcki Wai, with the flow, metal arpeggios, and fuzzy tones, tho I don't know all the possible intermediaries. Zheani is a bit Polish, has a studio there, and played Warsaw last year (also has a Serbian collaborator in Venesiaworld).
